PRACTICAL TIPS ON HOW TO LAY FLOORS ON THE FLOOR
Flooring can seem like a complicated task. But with the tips you will learn to follow, you will certainly be better able to develop your skills in this task.
First of all, it is necessary to check some important aspects before getting your hands dirty. These pre-applications make all the difference to the final result of the work.
Therefore, the first thing to do is to analyze the surface of the place where the floors will be laid. This is to see if the floor is not uneven, with “stones” or puddles so as not to hinder the development of the works.
These surfaces must be smooth and clean, without residues of paint or oil.
Moving on to the second step, it’s time to choose which size of ceramic you will use for your project. The most common dimensions are 20 × 30, 40 × 40, 60 × 60, 80 × 80, 100 × 100. They can be found in different textures, colors and designs.
The mortar, in turn, needs to be chosen based on the shape of the floor and which environment will be applied, whether outside or inside the residence. In this case, it is always good to consult the seller to find out the best type of mortar according to what you intend to do.
That done, it’s time to open the mortar package inside a container, like an application basin. Now just add water (the amount is usually specified in the mortar pack) and mix until it forms a kind of bubble-free dough. After that, let this mixture rest for 10-15 minutes.
APPLYING THE MORTAR
To apply the mortar, you will need a trowel with a thickness of 4mm or 5mm. Then, just put some of the mortar on the trowel and pass over the floor with the toothed side so that it forms parallel grooves when applied to the soil.
If the ceramics are more than 30cm x 30cm in size, it is interesting to apply a little bit of mortar also to the bottom of the ceramic pieces. This serves to better fix the material to the floor.
NEXT STEP ON HOW TO DO FLOOR LAYING: LAYING THE CERAMIC
Then, fit the ceramic piece over the mortar, adjusting it until it is in the correct position. For this, the ideal is also to use a rubber hammer to hit these parts. Thus, you can knead the grooves created by the trowel when they were applied with the mortar.
Fixing the first piece, place the floor spacers or levelers and add the other ceramics. Remember to follow the previous steps between the spacers and make the adjustment so that the ceramic is well aligned.
Also don’t forget not to leave a lot of space between the pieces. This is because, even when using floor spacers or levelers, it is important to check that they are really compliant and well leveled between one ceramic and another.
CUTTING THE PIECES
In order for you to evolve in the art of how to lay floors perfectly, a few touches are necessary. For example, for a better framing of the floor in the room, some ceramic pieces need to be cut.
This process can be done with a marble saw, which is electric, or with a turquoise key. For this second option, it will be necessary to apply manual force to cut the pieces.
However, be sure to make the appropriate markings on the ceramic with a pen so that the cuts are made more accurately.
FLOOR LAYING POST
After you have done the entire process of laying the floors, the ideal is to wait 72 hours to apply the grout. Thus, during this period it is also important to prevent the traffic of people so as not to uneven the tiles already attached to the ground.

The first step is to perform a general cleaning on the wall to remove any excess dirt or other debris. This process can be done simply by brushing with a kitchen loofah or by means of a water jet.
Then apply it following the same steps as the mortar and grout. Typically, the tiles are small, around 12.5cm x 12.5cm or smaller.
Which ends up being less laborious for both installation and cleaning compared to ceramics.
